Abstract

The century XXI starts with a common denominator with regards to the auto managed company, where the factor of work controls or could control the factor of capital, from the perspectives of different interests: the reaffirmation of the economic alternative both by the critics of the existent system as well as by the ones that search maximum efficacy within the managerial hierarchies. Our objective consists in continuing restimulating the debate, by determining the axis where the advantages and disadvantages of the auto managed companies- cooperatives and empowered companies- are declared. In this sense, in this paper we will conduct a brief historical review of the most important contributions in the socioeconomic context. Next, we will pose some questions as a basis for the empirical and theoretical investigation. Finally, we will demonstrate different cases of companies that keep drawing the attention of the academic research.
